Calculate Percentage Increase
Formula Used
The formula for calculating percentage increase is:
Percentage Increase = ((Final Value - Initial Value) / Initial Value) X 100
How It's Calculated
So we will use this formula to know how much value has grown by percentage term.
- Subtract the initial value from the final value.
- Divide the result by the initial value
- Multiply by 100 to get the percentage increase.
Example of increase in pay calculation.
If the initial value is 100 and final value is 200
Percentage Increase = [(120 - 100) / 100] x 100 = (20 / 100) x 100 = 20%
