Calculate Percentage Change
Formula Used

The formula for calculating percentage change is:

Percentage Change = ((Final Value - Initial Value) / Initial Value) × 100
How It's Calculated
  1. Subtract the final value from the initial value.
  2. Divide the result by the initial value
  3. Multiply by 100 to convert to a percentage
  4. Round the result to two decimal places
    1. If the result is positive, it's a percentage increase.
    2. If the result is negative, it's a percentage decrease.
Example

If the old value is 80 and the new value is 100:

  • Initial Value: 80
  • Final Value: 100
  • Percentage Change: [(100 - 80) / 80] x 100 = (20 / 80) x 100 = 25%

The percentage change is an increase of 25%.
